Professor Ana Frazão will participate in 32nd International Seminar on Competition Defence, promoted by IBRAC – Brazilian Institute of Competition, Consumption and International Trade Studies, from 11 to 13 November 2026, no Novotel Itu Golf & Resort, in Itu (SP).
The seminar is the main annual meeting of the Brazilian antitrust community and brings together CADE officials, lawyers, economists and academics to discuss the direction of competition policy. The 2026 edition brings themes such as the structure of the artificial genetic intelligence markets, the aqui-hires, competitive compliance in digital markets, exploratory abuses and prescription in competitive law, in addition to the opening conference of José Roberto de Castro Neves.
The teacher will participate in two panels.
The future of antitrust in the vision of the academy
On opening night, on November 11th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Ana Frazão will integrate the panel "The future of antitrust in the vision of the academy", which brings together teachers and researchers from different institutions — among them Paula Forgioni, Fernando de Oliveira Marques, Bruno Renzetti, Camila Pires Alves and Adriano Camargo Gomes — to discuss, from the academic perspective, the challenges facing competition law, with Guilherme Ribas as a debater.
The panel proposes a breathtaking look at the discipline: what antitrust needs to be before the digital economy, the concentration of power on platforms, artificial intelligence and pressures for competitive policy to dialogue with other public objectives.
Highlight phrase:
"The future of antitrust depends on its ability to face economic power in the forms it takes today, and not just yesterday's."
Sensitive points in the control of concentration acts
In November 13, from 9:15 to 10:30, Ana Frazão will integrate the panel "Sensitive points in controlling concentration acts", next to Vitor Garden Barbosa (Chief of the CADE) Paula Forgioni (USP Professor) and Sérgio Varella Bruna (Lobo de Rizzo Advogados), moderating Leda Batista da Silva.
The panel will discuss the recent practice of CADE in the control of structures and the future of Resolution 33, which disciplines the procedure of analysis of acts of concentration: what are the tension points of the current experience and what adjustments are necessary to reconcile speed, legal certainty and effectiveness of control.
Highlight Phrase:
"Structure control is the moment when antitrust authority can prevent economic power from being irreversibly consolidated."
Participation reinforces Ana Frazão's contribution to the debate on competition law and economic regulation.
