On June 12th, at 10:30 a lecture will be held on the challenges related to evidence systems and assumptions used in cartel convictions, a topic of great relevance to contemporary Competition Law.
During the meeting, Ana Frazão will address central issues involving the production and valuation of evidence in investigations and processes related to anti-competitive practices, discussing the limits and possibilities of using assumptions to prove colusive conduct. The theme has aroused increasing interest among academics, law professionals, economists and competition defense authorities, especially given the complexity inherent in the identification and punishment of cartels.
The lecture will also provide a reflection on the challenges faced by the bodies responsible for applying competitive legislation, as well as on the impact of cartel decisions on legal certainty, free competition and the efficient functioning of markets.
The event is aimed at students, researchers, lawyers, magistrates, prosecutors, public servants and others interested in the area of Competition Law and economic regulation.
